Gingernut biscuits

Ingredients

  • 110 grams normal flour
  • 1 heaped ts baking powder
  • 1 level ts baking soda
  • 4 heaped ts ginger powder
  • 40 grams brown sugar

  • 50 grams butter (in cubes at room temperature)
  • 50 grams golden syrup

Preparation

  • Mix the first 5 ingredients in a bowl
  • Add in the butter and mix until fine and crumbly
  • Add in the syrup and mix/kneed until it’s a homogeneous dough ball
  • Divide the dough ball in 16 equal parts
  • Put a sheet of baking paper on an oven baking tray
  • Shape each of the 16 parts into a ball and spread them over the baking tray
  • Flatten each ball into a cookie

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 160 Celsius
  • Bake the cookies for 20 minutes
